My January Birchbox...

Hello February!!! So, just want to update...I got my computer up and running again so now I am able to blog. With pictures!

I want to start with what I got in my January Birchbox...In the last few months, I have to say that I was beginning to not be impressed with what I was receiving in my monthly Birchbox. At one point, I did consider cancelling my monthly subscription. On top of that, I was reading other blogs that were also not too happy with their Birchbox...But I didn't want to give up yet so I decided to just continue with my subscription till the one year anniversary - which is coming up around April. And then we'll see...

Off to what's in my Birchbox...

VMV Hypoallergenics  - RE-Everything: Face-Hand-Body Lotion
This seems to be an all around type product. I'm not sure if I will be using this on my face but I will definitely try it on my Hands and Body. Will let you know what I think.
Origins Checks and Balances....
I believe this particular face wash is meant for someone with Combination/Oily skin. I'm sure this is a fine cleanser but I won't be using it because it's not suitable for my skin type. That will be given away then.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Peacock
I've always wanted to try Stila's eye liners since I've heard great reviews about them. This is a nice teal color - perfect for the coming Spring/Summer to brighten up an eye look.

Larabar Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough

I haven't tried the Larabar yet. I have seen this brand in Whole Foods Market before so I know it's available somewhere and comes with other flavors.

All in all, I actually do like what I got in my box this month (or last month). I hope it continues to be better and I might just keep my subscription past the one year mark...

Have you tried any of the products in the Birchbox? Are you subscribed to Birchbox?

xoxo,
Lynn

Birchbox # 2 - May 2011

This is such a late post on the second Birchbox I received in the mail last month. I have been so busy lately that I haven't had a time to post a review much less showcase what I received. Though it's late, I hope you enjoy a few pics of the products below.

If you subscribe to Birchbox. how do you like what you got?
I'm asking because some folks weren't happy with what they received...

What's inside my May Birchbox

By far this Ahava Mineral Hand Cream is my favorite from this month's Birchbox
It smells sooooo good and applies very creamy
I see a full size purchase in the future!

I also received a full size Stila eyeshadow in Java

Stila eyeshadow in Java is a deep rich brown shade
The texture is matte, no shimmer
It's a great crease color and liner

This Promeganate Soap smells awesome
It's the same you get from Hotel bathroom soaps:)

Not sure how I feel about this Bvlgari perfume- haven't given it a sniff:(

And this one you get a discount on cards if you order from the company.

Any favorites from your Birchbox? If so, will you be purchasing the full size version?

My picks: Ahava Mineral Hand Cream and Stila shadow in Java.

Coming Up: June Birchbox # 3

Birchbox # 1 - April 2011

I received my first Birchbox in April. I was debating for a long time whether or not to sign up for Birchbox since I've heard of some of the brands listed on their webpage. But I haven't tried them all so I thought, why not?

Below are some pictures of the goodies I received in April. If you don't know what Birchbox is, here's the description:

What it is: Birchbox is a monthly subcription, similar to how magazines work, where you pay either a monthly fee of $10 or pay for the whole year for $110 (I believe that's right). Each month, based on your Beauty Profile, you will receive 4-5 beauty samples to try. You'll get anything from beauty, skincare, makeup or beauty tools from well-known brands as well as up and coming ones.

What's also neat is that you earn points, by referring Birchbox to your friends or filling out a product survey. You can also purchase the full size products of your samples from their shop which will earn you points that you can use towards products.

I would have done a video on this but I have been so busy that I wasn't able to. Instead, see pictures of the items I received in my box. The only product I've tried so far is the nail polish- which I already in full size.
Pretty Packaging
I already have this Zoya polish Jules in full size (mini one is cute)

I will do a video and blog post of Birchbox # 2. I'm loving one product from this month so far.

Thanks for stopping by!
Lynn
