Pieces of my look of the day....

I was inspired to post pieces of my look today. No shots of hair because I didn't get a chance to put a comb through it yet. Instead, I took a few shots of the things I wore that I liked:)

First, these Rose Gold hoop earrings that I bought at Nordstrom during their Anniversary sale. It's a medium size hoop earrings perfect for everyday. The best part is that it was on sale I believe for $17. It's also very lightweight and easy to wear. I believe this will fast become a staple in my everyday wardrobe.

I also wore my new pair of black leggings purchased from H & M for $12.95. It's comfy however, it's quite big on me. I'll have to get a size smaller. This gets passed off to my mom then. I also wore my low heeled black patent wedge. I haven't worn these for a while. It's comfy and my feet fits comfortably except that my foot kept sliding forward a bit. I forgot the brand name - I got it a while back.

Been wearing my favorite shadow palette from Stila Sayulita. I love the color combos in this. I haven't used the green but I've used the rest. The palette also comes with blush and highlighter. For shadows, you get a light pink, a pale sort of peach shade, a light green and deep brown.
My look using the palette. Been really loving the Bare Minerals Flawless Definition Waterproof Mascara in Black

butterLondon: Aston

I wanted to post a quick nail of the day. Purchased this shade from butterLondon this past weekend during Nordstrom's anniversary sale. Nordstrom was having a special where if you buy 2 butter London polishes, you a free gift of the Yummy Mummy polish, their very popular shade. I also bought one more nail polish besides the one I'm showing here called Muggins but it was out of stock and had to be ordered for me.
Anyway, on to the polish. I am wearing Aston. The pictures here certainly don't do it justice. It is a beautiful shade. It's very neutral and can be worn for work or party. On my fingers, it seems to blend into my skin.
If you look closely at the pictures, it is a very faint shade of rosy pink with shimmer. That's what sold me on this. I love polishes that has a subtle hint of shimmer to it. I used about 2 coats and despite it's light shade, Aston is quite pigmented.

Overall, me love it! butterLondon nail lacquer's retail for $14 usd and can be purchased at several places including: Nordstrom or Ulta. Also check out the butterLondon website.

Have you tried butterLondon nail lacquer before? What did you think?

ok...off to work! xo, Lynn

Into the Wedge...

Been wanting to try high wedge shoes for a while. But being flat-footed usually prevent me from venturing into trying out these rather scary yet sexy shoes. So, as a birthday present I thought, why not??? While at the mall my parents decided to let me pick my present (yay! thanks mom & dad). I was on a mission while browsing the shoe section. There were so many wedge shoes but my eyes landed on these. I love these Jessica Simpson wedge. Perfect for summer. And the best part: 50% off! Yep, you read that right. These were originally $80 but I got them for half the price. Overall, a great deal. See pics below.....

These were pretty especially for me. I believe the heel part was 4 & a half inches in height. But I absolutely love platform wedge shoes. These were quite comfy...However, 10 minutes into them as I was heading downstairs towards the garage, I slipped:( Yeh, small price to pay for being in wedge heels:) On the upside, it added 4 inches to my height and made me really tall! Love!

Some foot action pics here....Excuse the non-existent and lack of toe polish...Lazy...

More shoe post to come!

Cool Bling Finds....

It's been a long while since I posted a jewelry post on my blog...I got sidetracked with makeup:) ha ha
Anyway, I wanted to share some bling-worthy finds here. Last week, I was wandering around Nordstrom for some Chanel items (new Fall 2011 makeup) when I spotted some jewelry items on sale across the way from Chanel's counter. I immediately browsed through what I could see and my eyes caught the attention of dangly earrings. I thought it was so pretty that I immediately snatched it up. And then my wandered over to a tall rack that had a bunch of cute looking necklaces when I spotted a blinged-out necklace that matched the color of the earrings.
So, here are the two...Aren't they pretty?
I would describe the necklace and earrings more like a smoky quartz stones. The drop earrings would be perfect for night out black top or cream with the hair pulled back...Hmmm..may have to try that. The necklace is adjustable to you can make it as short as possible or have it hang looser around the neck. I think it would be perfect with a v-neck top. The blingness can be paired with something more simple.

I'm very happy with my purchase at Nordstrom. I normally don't buy their jewelry items and these happened to be on sale so I lucked out:)
A couple of months ago, I purchased some jewelry at Hautelook by a jewelry named Amrita Singh. I bought 2 items: a rather huge statement necklace and ring..both in a coral red color- perfect for summer.
I was super excited to try the ring until I opened the package and this is what I ended up with. I was so shocked!!! The ring literally came apart when I took it out of the plastic. As you can see, the stone is not even glued on the band at all. I must say I was VERY disappointed. It was my first time ordering jewelry from Hautelook and my first time trying the line and this is what I get in the mail. Unfortunately, at the time that I ordered the ring, there were no refunds allowed on any items purchased. I'm sad about that. I can hot glue this together...but for the amount of money spent and the time it took to get to me, I would think the quality would be better.

On the other hand, the necklace is gorgeous. It's a bold statement necklace for sure.

Has this ever happen to anyone? Online order of jewelry and it didn't arrive in the condition you expected? Right now, I'm very weary of ordering any jewelry items on Hautelook...Oh well, lesson learned.

Nail of the Day: Zoya in America

In honor of 4th of July, I wanted to wear this color from Zoya in shade America. It's a beautiful shade of red. It's very opaque as well. You only need about 2 - 3 coats. I love reds. Besides corals, I love to rock most shades of red. I will definitely be adding this color as my favorite shade for summer. I was able to buy this at my local Ulta now that the brand is being sold there.

What's your go to color for summer?

I'm hanging poolside with friends this holiday weekend.
What are your plans this 4th of July?

Enjoy the fireworks and stay safe!

xoxo,
Lynn
